Quatrefolic® approved by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India

Gnosis by Lesaffre is really excited to inform that Quatrefolic®, the (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid, glucosamine salt – on February 2019 has been approved by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
It has been approved by FSSAI, as new food additive to be used as a source of folic acid with the intended health benefits as per Food Safety and Standards (Food or Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Foods for Special Dietary Uses, Foods for Special Medical Purpose, Functional Foods and Novel Foods) Regulations (2016) and Food Safety and Standards (Food Recall Procedure) Regulation (2017).
This is a new important achievement for the company which finally enters with the biological and active form of folate one of the most interesting and rapidly growing market of supplements and nutraceuticals.
Further regulatory approvals are in progress in several countries around the world.
